U-Prep Test Prep (Aimee Urdiales, instructor) is pleased to propose a two-session, in-person Podcasting for Beginners Workshop designed to help adults learn how to plan, record, and launch their own podcast. This hands-on course combines expert instruction with guided practice, giving participants the knowledge and confidence to start their show from scratch. This workshop is designed for individuals who are interested in creating a podcast to share ideas, promote a business, or explore creative storytelling.

There are many different beginner techniques to learn. I will explain each of the techniques, but for this course we will be playing around with gradients and washes to get comfortable using the paints and water. We will also learn how to mix some colors using primaries. We will end with a class project on how to paint a landscape using one of the various washes learned.

Join LSU AgCenter Livingston Parish Horticulture Agent, Clark Robertson, and Livingston Master Gardeners to learn how to start your own spring vegetable plants from seeds. Each participant will receive a flat containing seed starting trays and media, along with vegetable seeds to plant. Information will be given on how to grow and care from the seedlings from planting until harvest. Additional topics such as how to prepare your vegetable beds for planting and how to prevent and treat for potential insect and disease issues will also be covered.

Maison AU Candles (Aimee Urdiales, instructor) is pleased to host a hands-on candle making workshop that brings the art of candle artisan craftsmanship into your home. Participants will learn the complete process of creating luxury soy candles while experiencing the elegance and storytelling that defines Maison AU’s French-inspired candle collections. This workshop celebrates either Louisiana’s French Creole heritage through our Mardi Gras scents or the art of romance with our Valentine’s Day scents. Each participant will create their own 8oz luxury candle to take home, along with the knowledge of the best resources to continue their candle-making journey.
