Life Long Learning (Livingston Center)

Southeastern's Life-Long Learning Program believes in integrating "life-long learning skills" that go beyond specific knowledge or occupational areas.  These transferable skills are essential to an individual's intellectual, physical, and emotional success regardless of occupational of life role.  Individuals will engage in lifelong learning as a means for upward career mobility, job enhancement and enriched quality of life.  Leisure learning classes are non-credit  courses promoting personal enrichment, enjoyment, and self-empowerment.

Crushed Glass: Mosaic Cross (Aug 12th 6:00pm-8:00pm)

Join us in creating a unique one of a kind Crushed Stained Glass/Mosaic 12-inch Laser Cut Cross. Each participant will choose the color/colors of their glass, creating a unique cross. Supplies will be provided and participants will take their project home the day of the class with written instructions on curing and removal of the project from the backing.

Take a midweek pause to reconnect, restore, and recharge. Pause to Nurture: Noon Yoga is a 50-minute all-levels class that blends gentle Hatha, energizing Vinyasa, and calming restorative yoga into one mindful midday experience. Whether you're looking to stretch, move, or simply breathe, this class offers space to honor your body's needs in a supportive, grounding environment. Please bring a yoga mat if you have one. A block and water bottle are recommended. You may also wish to bring a towel or blanket for added comfort during restorative poses.

Preparing & Planting a Fall Garden (Aug. 28th, 6:00pm - 8:00pm)

Tired of gardening in the heat? Want to expand your vegetable garden in a cool way? Come learn about how you can grow fresh vegetables year-round in Louisiana. Each participant will receive a seed tray and seeds to start their own cool season vegetables as well as information and instructions on caring for a cool season vegetable garden. Participants will also receive a vegetable planting guide and sample layout for a 12-month vegetable garden. The class will be taught by Livingston Parish Horticulture Agent, Clark Robertson, along with volunteers from the Livingston Master Gardener. Association.
